Cookie notice

Short version: this site sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics and carries no advertising scripts. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

What we do not run

• No analytics or measurement service of any kind.
• No advertising network, no tracking pixels, no fingerprint scripts.
• No social-network embeds, and no fonts loaded from a third party.
• No account, no login, no newsletter list.

The one third-party script

The message form on the contact page is delivered by fortunida.com, the service that runs it, and it loads on that page only. Whatever it needs to store in your browser, it stores there and nowhere else on this site. Every other page here loads its stylesheet, its images and its documents from this domain and asks nothing of anyone else.

Server logs

Our hosting keeps the standard web-server access log — address, time, page, status, browser string — which is how the site is kept running and how broken links are found. It is not joined to anything else and it is not used to build a profile of a reader.

Links that leave the site

Where an article is a paid placement, the link it carries leads to the advertiser’s own site, which has its own rules and its own cookies. The same is true of the external links in the project archive, many of which are more than ten years old.
